Real Madrid’s hierarchy have decided it is time for absolute clarity inside the dressing room.

According to a report from AS, the club’s board will speak directly to the players ahead of the upcoming league fixture against Levante, delivering a message that leaves no room for interpretation.

With Xabi Alonso no longer at the helm, the responsibility now lies entirely with the squad.

Which is why, before the Levante match, the players will be told that “Xabi Alonso is no longer here, so now you are to blame for everything.”

Time for the players to step up

Those in charge at Real Madrid are fully aware of the scale of the problem, as they understand that the squad needs rebuilding and that structural changes are required to prepare the club for the future.

However, they also recognise that such a rebuild cannot happen overnight or within a single transfer window.

For now, the club is standing firmly behind Alvaro Arbeloa. Internally, there is still confidence in the new coach, and that support is expected to remain in place.

Meanwhile, the humiliation in Albacete has only intensified the debate. Within the club, there is a growing feeling that decisive action should have been taken earlier.

The breaking point

The defeat has reinforced the belief among some officials that the match against Celta Vigo should have marked the moment of change.

As was widely repeated inside the club after that night, “The decision to part ways with Xabi Alonso and bring in Alvaro Arbeloa should have been made earlier.”

That night is described as symbolic, one that began in fog and ended in complete darkness.

Since then, Madrid have struggled to find stability, and there is no immediate alternative on the table in terms of coaching changes.

This is why the message to the players is so direct. Without Alonso, there are no more excuses, no tactical scapegoats, and no room to hide.

The board want the squad to understand that performances, attitude, and commitment will now define the direction of the season.
