After a difficult summer, wherein he struggled at the FIFA Club World Cup, Raul Asencio has done well to bounce back strongly at Real Madrid.
The La Fabrica graduate was quite down on Xabi Alonso’s pecking order at the start of the new season, but injuries to other defenders paved the way for him and the Spaniard has made the most of his chances.
With Alonso gone, Asencio has continued his strong run of performances under new manager Alvaro Arbeloa as well.
Now, according to journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon, Asencio has been dealing with pain in his leg due to an injury.
Indeed, he has been playing with pain caused by a crack in his tibia since the beginning of the season.

But, Real Madrid’s defensive problems and injuries in the centre-back department have led him to make the effort to continue playing through the problem.
The Spanish defender is making a tremendous effort to play game after game despite dealing with pain from the injury.
He was taken off at half-time during Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League game against AS Monaco on Tuesday and there are some question marks about his availability for the Villarreal clash on Saturday night.
But with Eder Militao still unavailable and Antonio Rudiger also sidelined, Asencio may well be forced to play once again, as his absence would leave Arbeloa with Dean Huijsen as the only option, given that David Alaba has barely played.
Despite the situation being as it is, Real Madrid remain firm on their stance of not wanting to sign any new player in the ongoing January transfer window.
