Real Madrid reach agreement in principle with midfield target over a five-year contract | OneFootball

Real Madrid are showing no signs of slowing down in building their squad ahead of the next season, and in the shorter term future, the FIFA Club World Cup.

With Xabi Alonso having already taken over, Los Blancos are working hard to bring the squad to a competitive level at the earliest.

Defensive reinforcements have already arrived in the likes of Dean Huijsen and the rumoured signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The focus, currently, is on the midfield.

As relayed earlier this week, Real Madrid are seriously considering bringing back academy star Nico Paz to work under Alonso’s command and see him to be a great option to reinforce the department.

Another player on the club’s wishlist is Angelo Stiller of VfB Stuttgart, with the player understood to have been recommended by Toni Kroos.

Agreement in principle reached

Now, SPORT brings to light that Real Madrid already have reached an agreement in principle with Stiller to and arrive this summer and sign until 2030.

The VfB Stuttgart star has been one of Bundesliga’s standout midfielders this year and the manager sees him to have the right profile to bridge the gaps in Real Madrid’s squad. Florentino Perez and co., thus, have already begun their pursuit.

What remains now is negotiating a transfer with his club and agreeing on terms. Talks have already begun with Stuttgart and one can expect developments in the coming days.

Real Madrid will hope to get the operation done and dusted in time for the FIFA Club World Cup starting next month in the USA.

Needless to say, the signing of Stiller is said to be completely independent of the Paz operation which will continue unperturbed.
