Real Madrid ‘really like’ Espanyol star | OneFootball

The transfer team at Real Madrid have identified a member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga rivals Espanyol as a potential signing for the future.

That’s according to COPE, who point towards Joan García as the player in question.

Spaniard Joan has for his part been arguably the standout shot-stopper in all of La Liga across the season to date.

Still just 23, Joan has long been hailed for his remarkable reflexes and spectacular save catalogue, enough to pique the attentions of some of European football’s leading clubs.

Last summer, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal expressed a keen interest in the Espanyol youth product’s signature.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word doing the rounds in Spain on Friday is anything to go by, then the Gunners have been joined in their admiration by none other than Real Madrid.

As per a report from COPE, whilst they are not actively seeking out reinforcements between the posts at present, Thibaut Courtois’ increasingly frequent injury problems, coupled with the possibility of Andriy Lunin seeking out more regular playing time elsewhere, have landed Joan firmly on the radar of the Santiago Bernabéu brass:
