La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week knocked back a transfer offer by way of Qatar.
That’s according to Marca, who confirm that as much landed on the desks at the Santiago Bernabéu for young defender Lorenzo Aguado.
Stopper Aguado is for his part expected to be on the move before the summer is out.
Despite being held in high regard in Spain’s capital, the 22-year-old is aware that his route to first-team duties is blocked by the likes of Dani Carvajal and summer signing Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Fresh off a fine season with Real Madrid Castilla, a number of clubs from across the continent and beyond have in turn expressed a keen interest in Aguado’s signature.
And as alluded to above, this week, one such suitor saw a proposal for the right-back rebuffed.
As per a report from Marca:
‘The latest offer Aguado had on the table was a succulent proposal from a team in Qatar. The Qatari club met the financial requirements established by Real Madrid for the player’s transfer, but in this case, Madrid was asking for 100% of the player’s transfer fee, not just 50%.’
Owing to as much, the talks between the clubs fell through, with Aguado’s future seemingly lying elsewhere.
