Real Madrid may have already been busy in the transfer market this summer, but the club is not done yet.
In fact, according to Marco Ruiz of AS, the Spanish giants are keeping a close watch on Manchester City midfielder Rodri, who has become one of the top names on their radar.
So far, Real Madrid have signed four new players, strengthening key areas in the squad. However, Xabi Alonso believes that the team still needs a true organiser in midfield.
Several players have been linked with the role, including Alexis Mac Allister, Enzo Fernandez, and Nicolo Barella, but no deal has been completed for any of them.
This has led Real Madrid to look at Rodri, who remains highly valued by the club’s top decision-makers.
The midfielder is seen as one of the best in the world in his position and could be the missing piece in Madrid’s midfield puzzle.

It is to be noted that Rodri’s current contract with Manchester City runs until 2027, but there are no signs of a renewal so far. That has caught the attention of Real Madrid, who are watching closely.
The 29-year-old returned to action at the end of last season after spending nine months out with a serious knee injury and now, the focus is on whether he can return to his usual high level of performance.
If Rodri chooses not to renew his deal with City by next summer, the Premier League champions might be forced to sell.
That would prevent him from running down his contract and leaving for free, a situation that has become common in recent years. Such a move could also see the player secure a large signing fee elsewhere.
For now, Real Madrid are keeping tabs on the situation, ready to make a move if the chance arises.
