The last few days have once again seen the French forward Michael Olise being linked with Real Madrid. Both the Merengue club and Bayern Munich have tried to downplay the intensity of these links with their public statements, but the rumors linking the Frenchman with the Spanish club refuse to die down.
In recent days, reports have once again emerged claiming the forward wants to join Los Blancos this summer, and has already let them know of his intentions. Another report claimed that he had already told his French teammates that he intends to leave Bayern and join Real Madrid for the next season.
However, despite these reports, the journalist Christian Falk, in his latest column on CF Bayern Insider, claims that the Merengues understand that they have no chance of signing the French forward this summer, and they are also ready to turn their attention to another big name, Erling Haaland. The journalist believes their chances of landing the Norwegian superstar are also not too bright either.
As far as Olise is concerned, although he is highly unlikely to join Los Blancos this summer, the door to a move to Real Madrid is not going to be permanently closed. It remains to be seen whether he will renew his contract with Bayern, and if he decides not to do so, the Bavarians might be forced to sell him. But for this summer, he is set to stay at his current club.
After an excellent 2025-26 season with Bayern Munich, Michael Olise was unable to keep up his good performances in the World Cup 2026. While shining in some games, he was far from his best level in the biggest game that his side played, against Spain in the semi-final.
Perhaps this experience will show him that he still has some way to go, and spending another year at Bayern Munich before making his way to Real Madrid as a more firmly established star would not be too bad an idea for his career.
