Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Ibrahima Konate on a free transfer from Liverpool.
The France international has signed a four-year contract with the Spanish side and will officially become a Real Madrid player when his contract at Anfield expires on July 1st.
Konate moves toLa Liga after failing to reach terms on a new contract at Liverpool. The 27-year-old spent five seasons with the Reds, in which he won the Premier League, FA Cup, and two League Cup trophies.
Real Madrid have confirmed his signing via an official statement, with the central defender becoming the club's third signing of the summer, following deals for Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva.
"Real Madrid C. F. and Ibrahima Konaté have reached an agreement for him to become a Real Madrid player for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030,"the statement said.
Real Madrid have also agreed a deal to sign Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan after activating the release clause in the Dutch defender's deal.
The Spaniard are planning a bold summer of recruitment after two trophyless seasons at the Bernabeu.
Jose Mourinho has returned to Real Madrid as head coach, with a central midfielder and forward also on the club's agenda.
The La Liga giants saw a€150m bid for Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez rejected earlier this summer and have a four-player shortlist of potential midfield additions, which includes Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez and West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
