A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has been left out of the club’s starting XI for the first time all season on Tuesday.

The player in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Real Madrid are of course primed to return to action in short order.

Eyeing a 7th successive victory to open the campaign, Los Blancos have made the trip to Valencia, for a La Liga meeting with newly-promoted Levante.

The fixture comes just three days out from Xabi Alonso’s troops putting Espanyol to the sword by two goals to nil.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of the Real coaching staff having opted for a number of line-up alterations.

One such change, as alluded to above, comes in the middle of the park, where Aurélien Tchouaméni has been left out for the first time all season.

The Frenchman had featured from the off in all six of the capital club’s outings thus far in 2025/26, but will this evening be afforded a well-earned rest.
