Real Madrid star Antonio Rüdiger has on Tuesday discovered the extent of his sanction, for the red card he was shown during this past weekend’s Copa del Rey final.

The name of defender Rüdiger has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines across all of Europe over the last 72 hours.

This comes after the German completely lost his cool, late in the finale of the Copa del Rey.

With his side trailing Barcelona by three goals to two with just moments remaining in injury-time, Rüdiger exploded into life from the Real Madrid bench.

Nothing short of livid owing to a questionable decision made by the team of officials, the former Chelsea man went as far as to throw an object in the direction of referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, amid a remarkable rant.

And as alluded to above, on Tuesday, Rüdiger, and Real Madrid, have been made aware of the player’s sanction.

As per Blancos insider Arancha Rodríguez of COPE, the 32-year-old has been hit with a six-game domestic suspension, ruling him out for the remainder of this season, and the opening match of the 2025/26 campaign.

It is worth remembering that Rüdiger had already bid farewell to the rest of this season, after undergoing surgery on a knee injury earlier today.
