Real Madrid’s win over Mallorca last night was marred by controversy, particularly the refereeing decisions that went against Los Blancos time and time again.
After all, the men in white had three goals disallowed on the night – one from Arda Guler and two from Kylian Mbappe – forcing them to be content with a narrow 2-1 scoreline.
The players and management, needless to say, were frustrated by the officiating to an extent where there were talks that they were perhaps being targeted by the match officials.
As relayed in a recent report by Defensa Central, Mbappe left the field very dissatisfied with the outcome despite the team winning and was dejected by his goals being ruled out for offside.
He was, after all, chasing a special record held by Cristiano Ronaldo of scoring in ten consecutive league games for Real Madrid and even one goal counted on the night would have taken his count to eight.

The player met with his teammates behind the scenes after the game and complained about how his goals were wrongfully disallowed.
“I don’t see it well that these two goals are annulled,” he reportedly said.
Further, he called what happened on the field ‘not football’ and he was unsatisfied with the explanations given to him by the on-field referee.
Mbappe was of the opinion that all three goals did not have enough violation to be disallowed.
While Mbappe may be right about the officiating, the fact remains that he has struggled to beat the offside trap on several occasions over the past year and that he must consciously look to improve on the same.
After all, his goal output will multiply if he can perfect that aspect of his game.
