The home support in attendance at Real Madrid’s meeting with Liverpool on Wednesday have wasted little time in making clear their dislike for a leading member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

The player in question? Kylian Mbappé.

Frontman Mbappé was afforded his latest starting berth this evening, taking his place out wide at Anfield, amid the absence of Vinícius Jr. through injury.

The Frenchman has since gone on to endure a difficult start to things, with Liverpool’s players having taken a no-nonsense approach when dealing with Mbappé.

And, as alluded to above, this is a tactic which has been echoed by large sections of the home crowd on Merseyside.

On each and every occasion on which he has touched the ball thus far tonight, Mbappé has been met with heavy whistles, jeers and boos from the Liverpool faithful.

It now remains to be seen whether the 25-year-old, or the Anfield crowd, has the last laugh…
