Real Madrid striker Endrick has become a priority target for Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyon, according to French news outlet L’Equipe.

The 19-year-old hasn’t kicked a ball for Los Blancos since Xabi Alonso replaced Carlo Ancelotti in the dugout and is angling for a move in January.

Gonzalo Garcia, who broke through in last summer’s Club World Cup campaign, is rated ahead of the Brazilian striker.

The teenager was once considered one of the finest talents to come out of South America before his big-money move to Madrid, but he has struggled to impress.

The Brazilian international started making inroads into the team under Ancelotti last season. He featured 37 times across all competitions, scoring seven times.

However, he has failed to establish himself in Alonso’s long-term plans, so a January move is the most likely outcome.

Lyon are not the only French club looking to capitalise on Endrick’s situation, with Paris Saint-Germain also exploring the possibility of luring him to Ligue 1.

Endrick has also been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa among the clubs keeping a close eye on his situation.

Les Gones have made an impressive start to the season. They are in fifth place, but only two points separate them from reigning champions PSG.

They’re looking to improve their attacking options and view Endrick as a cost-effective reinforcement, but luring him to Groupama Stadium might not be so straightforward.

Lyon have opened talks to sign Endrick. They’re locked in negotiations with the player’s camp, but Madrid’s demands could scupper their hopes of signing him.

Endrick is reportedly open to the idea of joining Lyon, as they can offer him a clear pathway to becoming a first-choice striker after Georges Mikautadze’s summer move to Villarreal.

However, with Madrid in a strong negotiating position, they’ll likely demand a sizable loan fee and ask Lyon to cover a significant portion of his €100,000 per week salary.
