Vinicius Jr.’s performances for Brazil have often been compared to the extraordinary standards he sets at Real Madrid, but one of the country’s greatest footballers believes the winger is more than capable of becoming the face of the national team.
Former Real Madrid and Brazil star Kaka has publicly defended his compatriot amid ongoing debate surrounding Vinicius’ influence for the Seleção.
Speaking during an appearance on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, the Ballon d’Or winner made it clear that he sees the Madrid superstar as one of the central figures capable of leading Brazil into a new era.
With Carlo Ancelotti now in charge of the national team, expectations surrounding Vinicius have only increased, but Kaka believes the forward possesses all the qualities needed to embrace that responsibility.
Despite occasional criticism regarding his international performances, Vinicius remains one of the most talented players available to Brazil.

The winger has already established himself among the world’s elite through his displays at Real Madrid, where he has become one of the club’s most decisive and influential players.
For Kaka, that status naturally makes him one of the leading candidates to take on greater responsibility within the national team setup.
“Ancelotti is the best possible manager. Vinicius is the star player at Real Madrid. He’s been the best in the world.
“Vini can be the leader. Raphinha too. Casemiro and his leadership. Marquinhos. But up front, Vini, Raphinha, Cunha…”
One factor working heavily in Vinicius’ favour is the presence of a coach who already knows exactly how to get the best out of him.

Their existing relationship could prove invaluable as Brazil attempt to build a team capable of challenging for major trophies once again.
Kaka clearly believes Ancelotti’s appointment represents the best possible scenario for the national team.
His confidence in the Italian coach is closely linked to his own experience, as he played under Ancelotti during his AC Milan days.
“Ancelotti understood my style of play and changed it,” explained Kaka.
That exact familiarity may help accelerate the process of transforming Vinicius from a star performer into one of Brazil’s unquestioned leaders.
