A new report from Defensa Central has revealed Real Madrid’s long-term plan to strengthen their squad by bringing back three of their most promising former academy players in the summer of 2026.

According to the outlet, the club is expected to activate buy-back clauses included in past transfer deals, securing the return of Nico Paz, Chema Andres, and Jacobo Ramon.

All three players emerged from La Fabrica and are regarded internally as some of the finest talents developed by the club in recent years.

According to the report, Real Madrid will spend a combined €30 million to bring the trio back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Much-awaited returns

The most high-profile return would be Nico Paz, currently viewed as one of the most in-demand young players in European football.

Madrid are set to re-sign him for €9 million, a modest fee considering his rapid development and growing reputation.

Chema Andres, meanwhile, has been showcasing his full potential in Germany and is expected to return for €13 million, while Jacobo Ramon will be brought back for €8 million after impressing under Cesc Fabregas at Como.

Real Madrid are preparing to adjust parts of their starting XI while also improving squad depth and the return of familiar academy products.

Rather than spending heavily on external signings, Madrid see value in reintegrating players who already understand the club’s culture, demands, and identity.

The decision also aligns closely with the views of Xabi Alonso, who knows Chema and Ramon particularly well, having coached both during their formative years at the club’s academy.

While none of the three are guaranteed immediate starting roles, their return would significantly strengthen Madrid’s options across multiple positions – defence, midfield, and attack.

From a financial perspective, the plan also makes sense because for €30 million, Real Madrid would struggle to sign even one established player suitable for their squad.
