Real Madrid could be preparing to finish their La Liga campaign without one of their biggest stars, with Ok Diario suggesting Vinicius Jr. is highly unlikely to feature against Athletic Club this weekend.
According to the outlet, the Brazilian forward is currently dealing with physical discomfort, and although the issue is not believed to be serious, the club appears unwilling to take any unnecessary risks ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
With the match carrying almost no competitive importance for Real Madrid, the coaching staff is leaning towards protecting Vinicius rather than forcing him back onto the pitch for the final game at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In fact, there is even growing speculation that the winger may not remain in Spain until matchday itself.

According to the outlet, Vinicius is considering travelling back to Brazil early with the club’s approval in order to enjoy a short rest period before linking up with the Brazil national football team for their World Cup preparations.
Considering his current physical state, both Real Madrid and Brazil appear determined to avoid any physical setbacks.
Fortunately enough, there is little concern regarding the seriousness of the issue and the feeling is that the discomfort is relatively minor rather than a major injury problem.
However, Real Madrid’s medical and coaching staff is also fully aware that there is little sense in risking one of the squad’s most valuable players in a match with limited significance.

As informed by the outlet, Vinicius trained indoors alongside Dani Carvajal, Aurelien Tchouaméni, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, all of whom are currently managing different physical issues.
While Carvajal is still expected to feature due to the emotional importance of his Bernabeu farewell, Vinicius appears set to remain unavailable.
Simply out, with the World Cup approaching, Real Madrid are keen on avoiding any unnecessary injury risk, which could create major consequences for Brazil.
