The World Cup is just around the corner, which appears to have created a sense of urgency within the Real Madrid camp.
The club are facing the prospect of their first presidential election in 20 years, which has delayed some of the processes, including the appointment of Jose Mourinho.
But that hasn’t stopped Real Madrid from venturing into the market, as the club look to shore up its ranks for the season ahead.

According to Matteo Moretto on MARCA, Real Madrid are looking to complete at least two new signings before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The two signings in question are Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries. Real Madrid have until June 12 to finalise these deals.
Konate’s signing is not expected to take much time, as the defender is available as a free agent and has reportedly agreed initial terms with the club.
Dumfries, on the other hand, is still contracted to Inter Milan. However, he has a €25 million release clause attached to his contract.
Inter Milan do not wish to negotiate, meaning Real Madrid are free to sign Dumfries if they agree to pay the release clause.

While the election campaign has delayed few of the internal processes at Real Madrid, it is unlikely to delay the club’s transfer dealings.
For one, the election will conclude on June 7. But more importantly, Florentino Perez is the overwhelming favourite, which is likely why the Spaniard is already calling all the shots for the season ahead.
Keeping that in mind, it is now up to Real Madrid to complete the necessary formalities and make sure both Konate and Dumfries join the team before the start of the World Cup.
