Real Madrid starlet Arda Güler has on Wednesday secured for himself an altogether noteworthy piece of club history.
This comes owing to the Turk’s exploits in Los Blancos’ latest outing.
Real Madrid are of course currently locked in action on the continent, in a Champions League quarter-final 2nd-leg showdown with Bayern Munich.
The aforementioned Arda was afforded a starting berth at the Allianz Arena, as part of a midfield three.
And safe to say, the 21-year-old has since gone on to make his presence firmly felt…
Arda was first responsible for opening the scoring in the clash, courtesy of a wonderful left-footed finish from distance.
This was then followed on the half-hour mark by the youngster’s 2nd of the evening, on this occasion from a free-kick.
And as alluded to above, in the process, the former Fenerbahçe talent etched his name into the history books of Real Madrid.
As per a report from statisticians Squawka:
‘Arda Güler is just the third Real Madrid player to score 2+ goals from outside of the box in a Champions League game.’
The other two? Roberto Carlos, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
