Real Sociedad have been dealt a last-minute personnel blow, ahead of their upcoming meeting with Real Madrid.

This comes amid confirmation that Brais Méndez has been ruled out of the Anoeta clash.

Real Sociedad are primed to kick their campaign back into gear in short order.

A La Liga meeting with the aforementioned Real Madrid lies in wait, in San Sebastian.

La Real head into the matchup aware that a tough 90 minutes awaits, against a team who have secured maximum points thus far this season.

As alluded to above, though, in efforts to secure what would be a surprise victory, the evening’s hosts will be forced to make do without a key member of their midfield ranks.

This comes with Brais Méndez having been omitted from Sociedad’s matchday squad, owing to a facial injury suffered in training on Friday.

As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:

‘Brais Méndez suffered a facial contusion in Friday’s session. Following examinations and tests performed on the player, a closed reduction of a nasal fracture was performed at the Gipuzkoa Polyclinic.’
