FC Bayern kick off their Champions League round of 16 second leg against Atalanta Bergamo in just under an hour’s time, and we bring you the starting line-ups for the game.
After their emphatic 6-1 win in the first leg, Munich will be looking to book their place in the quarter-finals at the Allianz Arena, where they will next face Real Madrid – an opponent against whom FCB still have a score to settle after several intense clashes in recent years.
Compared to the last game at Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, Vincent Kompany has made five changes to his team. Jonas Urbig is in goal, having recovered from concussion in good time. With Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich still injured, Leonard Prescott is on the bench. There had long been speculation that the 16-year-old could even make his debut against Bergamo.
Josip Stanisic, Jonathan Tah, Minjae Kim and Tom Bischof form the back four, with Alphonso Davies (hamstring strain) and Hiroki Ito (torn muscle fibre) unavailable due to injury. Kompany will rely on Goretzka and Aleksandar Pavlovic in central midfield, with Joshua Kimmich missing due to a yellow card suspension.
In attack, Lennart Karl, Raphaël Guerreiro and Luis Díaz will start behind Harry Kane, who will line up in the center of attack. Michael Olise is also suspended. Kane is back in the starting eleven for the first time since the 3-2 win in Dortmund, having recently been on the bench with an injury. Jamal Musiala, on the other hand, is not in the squad.
Dayot Upamecano and Konrad Laimer are also on the bench for the time being, both of whom have been booked and would miss the quarter-final if they pick up another yellow card.
FC Bayern: Urbig – Stanisic, Tah, Minjae Kim, Bischof – Goretzka, Pavlovic – Karl, Guerreiro, Díaz – Kane
Bayern substitutes‘ bench: Bärtl, Prescott – Upamecano, Gnabry, Jackson, Ito, Laimer, Ofli, Manuba, Pavic
