In his match report, referee Rodrigo Jose Pereira de Lima said he needed police help, with military police using force, to enter the officials' dressing room at Neo Química Arena after the Corinthians 1-1 Flamengo draw in the eighth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Before the second half began, sheets of paper and a paper roll were thrown, with the roll striking the Flamengo goalkeeper in the back without injury, from the section housing Corinthians supporters.
After full time, people in Corinthians shirts confronted the officials outside their room, and Leonardo Carnevale, brand and new business manager, and Mauro van Basten, technical observer, were identified among those shouting insults.
The referee's performance was criticised by both Corinthians and Flamengo. The hosts complained about a second-half penalty not given on André and frequent stoppages. Flamengo took issue with the dismissal of Evertton Araújo six minutes into the second half.
Both sides now have a break because of the FIFA dates. Corinthians face Fluminense on one April. Flamengo visit Bragantino on two April.
