Ewen Jaouen is set to join Newcastle from Reims. According to L'Équipe, the clubs have reached agreement and the 20-year-old will sign on Monday.

The transfer is worth 25 million euros plus 3.5 million in bonuses. That takes the total to 28.5 million euros. He has agreed a four-year contract with the Magpies.

Newcastle had been among the most interested in the France Under-21 goalkeeper. Reims, who had sought at least 20 million euros for a player tied down until June 2029, accepted the bid.

Jaouen arrives off a strong campaign with 15 clean sheets in Ligue 2. After the winter exits of Abdoul Koné and Patrick Zabi, it represents another lucrative sale for Reims.

In England he will compete with an experienced keeper. That may be Nick Pope, 34, or another arrival if the England international leaves this window.
