There is big news about one of the biggest stars of the Premier League season so far. According to TalkSport, Chelsea target Antoine Semenyo has a release clause in his contract.

The 25 year old signed a new deal in the summer, but only on the condition that it has a fixed amount that allows him to move on.

“The exact terms of the release clause are being kept under wraps as Bournemouth want to keep hold of their star man for as long as possible,” the paper concludes.

The number could be anything – we don’t know when the clause is active or how much it is, or even which clubs it applies to. But given he signed the deal with it in this summer when a lot of teams were chasing him, we assume it’s pretty favourable to him.

Impressive Semenyo not just the stats

Semenyo’s start has been brilliant – he has nine goal contributions, six goals and three assists, in the seven games played.

But it’s not just the stats that are outstanding. While some players are subtle in their gifts, Semenyo is the opposite. He’s one of the most awesome sights to behold in the Premier League right now, his speed and strength tearing through defences and his sharpness in the box unmatched by anyone not named Erling Haaland.

Whatever that release clause is, it feels likely that someone pays it if the Ghana star keeps up this form much longer.

In other news…

While Chelsea consider signing Semenyo this summer, one of their recent winger additions has been heavily criticised, with Alan Smith knocking Jamie Gittens.

Our desire to keep acquiring talents won’t stop however – full back Souza was the latest South American talent mentioned as a prospect we want.
