Devyne Rensch has reportedly reached an agreement with Roma, but Ajax rejected the Giallorossi’s opening bid.

According to De Telegraaf and Gazzetta, versatile Ajax defender Rensch has agreed to personal terms with Serie A side Roma.

The 21-year-old’s contract with Ajax expires in less than six months, so Roma hope to agree on a low transfer fee with Ajax.

However, according to both media, the Lancers, coached by the Italian Francesco Farioli, have rejected an opening €5m bid from Roma.

According to Gazzetta, Ajax’s asking price is €10m, but Roma hope to persuade the Dutch giants to sell their defender this month, given that he already has an agreement to move to the Olimpico for free in the summer.

Rensch is a regular Ajax starter, having already made 24 appearances across all competitions this season, collecting over 2,000 minutes of football in the first part of 2024-25.

Roma are unbeaten in the last four Serie A games and will host Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico on January 17.
