Chelsea had officials in France on Friday night watching Paris Saint Germain vs Strasbourg, and they were impressed by two players according to reports.

Strasbourg are part of Chelsea’s multi club model, and the Ligue 1 outfit have made a brilliant start to the season, and currently sit third, two points behind leaders Marseille.

It was almost a famous night for Strasbourg, but they were unable to hold onto a 3-1 lead and the game ended in a 3-3 draw.

Chelsea impressed by Joaquin Panichelli and Guela Doue

Striker Emanuel Emegha is joining Chelsea next summer, but he missed the game through injury, with Joaquin Panichelli scoring twice in his absence, whilst Guela Doue reportedly also impressed.

Panichelli now has five goals in seven games this season, and according to journalist Graeme Bailey those performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

“BlueCo are over-the-moon with what is going on at Strasbourg, the football they are playing under Liam Rosenior and the players who are blossoming under his guidance,” he told TBR Football.

“Strasbourg have some outstanding players and someone like Panichelli, he was plucked from the Spanish second division but looks top quality.

“Sources point out to me that this is the advantage of being able to blood these players in France, ahead of potential moves to England.”

Strasbourg proving to be very beneficial

Multi club ownership is something which has been criticised, but Chelsea are making it work well with Strasbourg.
