Chelsea are set to rival Manchester City for Nottingham Forest and England star Elliot Anderson according to reports.

The Blues were busy in the summer and made six signings, with five of those attackers as the frontline underwent a major revamp.

Jorrel Hato was the only defensive signing, but the 19-year-old filled a major hole in the squad, with Chelsea now having an alternative to Marc Cucurella at left back.

Chelsea to rival Manchester City for Elliot Anderson

Despite the transfer window being closed, rumours are starting to emerge in regards to January and even deals next summer.

The Mirror have reported Chelsea are expected to provide strong competition to City in their pursuit of £75m rated Anderson.

The report adds the Blues are keen on bringing him to Stamford Bridge, whilst it’s claimed any move for Anderson would try and be done before the World Cup.

Anderson has established himself as one of the best talents in the Premier League after making the £35m switch from Newcastle in 2024.

His form has seen him become part of the England set-up, and if he continues to progress as he is then a move to a top club could be on the cards next summer.

Chelsea well stocked in midfield

It’s not a surprise to see Chelsea linked to a player like Anderson given he’s a top young talent, but a move for the 22-year-old doesn’t make a lot of sense currently.

Chelsea are well stocked in midfield with the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Andrey Santos.

A move for Anderson would only make sense if one of those four left, which whilst not impossible would seem unlikely.

Chelsea have also been linked with Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton, and it will be interesting to see what they do in midfield next summer.
