Inter Milan outcast Kristjan Asllani could reportedly join Serie A strugglers Genoa on loan until the end of the season.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the Griffins are keen to sign the Albanian midfielder to bolster their ranks.

Kristjan Asllani is set to return to San Siro following an underwhelming six-month loan spell at Torino.

Despite making 15 league appearances for the Turin outfit, the 23-year-old has failed to live up to expectations.

Therefore, Marco Baroni’s men have decided to terminate his stay.

Inter would ideally offload the former Empoli man on a permanent basis.

However, that’s not a realistic expectation, especially after Asllani’s disappointing performances in Turin.

Furthermore, the player has already closed the door to a potential transfer away from Serie A.

Instead, he is desperate to stay in Italy, where only a handful of teams have shown interest in his services.

Yet, relegation-fighting Genoa could throw him a lifeline, with Daniele De Rossi looking to boost his midfield options in January.
