Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan could reportedly rekindle interest in Benfica midfielder Richard Rios this summer.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri are still keeping close tabs on the former Palmeiras star.
Roma stalwart Manu Kone remains Inter’s top target. Indeed, the Frenchman is the leading candidate to strengthen Cristian Chivu’s midfield options.
However, the 24-year-old won’t come cheap. Worryingly, the Giallorossi won’t let the Kone leave for less than €40 million.
Therefore, Inter are evaluating other options. Moreover, Kone’s potential arrival wouldn’t rule out the signing of another midfielder.
Inter had tried to sign Richard Rios from Palmeiras last summer. Yet, Benfica beat them to the punch, splashing out €27 million to secure his signature.
Unfortunately, the 25-year-old has failed to find his footing at the Estadio da Luz despite making 40 appearances for the Eagles this term.
As such, manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly open to selling Rios in the summer.
Meanwhile, Inter are not the only Serie A side interested in the Colombian midfielder.
Indeed, Napoli are also in the race, with the Partenopei willing to spend up to €30 million to lure Rios to Italy.
