Contract Talks Progress for Key Midfield General

Manchester City are poised to tie down Rodri with a new long-term contract, recognising his stature as one of world football’s most influential players. The Spaniard, who has two years remaining on his current £200,000-a-week deal, is expected to commit his future to the club until 2029, with a significant pay rise that will see him surpass the £300,000-a-week mark. Discussions between player and club have been ongoing for close to 12 months, but were paused after Rodri suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury against Arsenal in September.
