Reports in Italy claim that Milan and goalkeeper Mike Maignan are stuck on salary demands in talks regarding a new contract for the Frenchman, whose current deal is set to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season.

Milan have been in talks over a potential renewal for Maignan for several months, but have thus far not been able to make any significant steps towards an extension. Without a renewal, the 30-year-old remains at risk of leaving on a free transfer come the end of the season.

According to updates from Cladio Raimondi on SportMediaset XXL, there is currently a gap of around €3m per season in wages between Maignan’s demands and Milan’s current proposal.

Maignan is reportedly seeking a salary in the region of €8m per season, which would make him the best-paid goalkeeper in the division by some distance, and would place him among the league’s highest earners overall.

Milan, meanwhile, are currently ‘stuck’ at an offer of €5m per season in wages, and according to updates from Milannews.it, are unlikely to raise their proposal any further.

Meanwhile, there have been reports of interest in Maignan from several clubs across Europe, including Chelsea, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
