Report reveals the Atletico Madrid stance as Barcelona explores swap option | OneFootball

The center-forward position is one of the areas of the team that FC Barcelona are looking to strengthen with the highest priority in the upcoming summer transfer window.

For this purpose, they have been linked with several names, with the most notable among them being the Argentine star Julian Alvarez. In fact, he is reportedly the favorite of the Catalan club to strengthen their attack.

However, signing him is going to be anything but easy for the Blaugranes. According to SPORT, this is especially the case as Atletico Madrid are getting angry with Barcelona for trifling with their player in the middle of the season, and as a result, they would allow for the Argentine’s departure only on their conditions.

One such condition has already been outlined by the Colchoneros, i.e., they will not allow for any player swaps to decrease the price of the forward. This was the only viable option for the Catalans to sign Alvarez, and they were thinking of making players like Marc Casado or Ferran Torres a part of this deal.

As a result, the Madrid side would allow Julian Alvarez to leave only on a simple transfer, with the fee reaching up to €100 million. It remains to be seen whether these sides will battle for the star forward in the summer, but for now, Barcelona and Atletico will be fighting on the pitch for the next two weeks.
