Francesco Camarda seemed destined to join Monza on an 18-month loan this morning, but the negotiations have now collapsed. According to multiple reports, AC Milan decided to pull the plug at the last second.
After securing the services of Santiago Gimenez, who’s currently on a plane to Milano, Milan appeared willing to let their wonderkid Camarda leave on loan. Adriano Galliani and Monza immediately jumped on the matter and were close to a total agreement this morning.
However, as first reported by Gianluca Di Marzio this evening, Milan have decided to pull the plug on the deal. As added by MilanNews, it was Zlatan Ibrahimovic who made the decision as he was unwilling to part ways with the 16-year-old.
Of course, playing time will not really be a problem for Camarda as he can play for the first team, the Futuro side and the Primavera. It remains to be seen what his role will be with the first team for the remainder of the season, but clearly Milan feel he will have space.
It should also be noted that Monza are struggling at the bottom of the Serie A standings, so perhaps it wouldn’t have been the right move for Camarda.
