England manager Thomas Tuchel has slammed Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham over his unhappy reaction to being substituted against Albania.

The midfielder played for only 25 minutes after coming off the bench in the Three Lions’ 2-0 win over Serbia last week.

Tuchel named the Madrid star in his starting XI on Sunday, but opted to replace him with Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers in the 84th minute.

Bellingham was unhappy with the decision, gestisulating with his arms after his number went up.

Tuchel was asked about the situation in his post-match press conference, and he advised the 22-year-old to be more respectful to his teammates.

“I have to review it – I saw he was not happy,” said Tuchel (per The Telegraph). “If you have players like Jude who are so competitive they will never like it, but my word stands.

It is about standards, about level, and a commitment and respect for each other. So someone is waiting, and we will not change our decision because someone is waving their arms.

“That is the decision, and he has to accept the decision. His friend is waiting on the sidelines, so you need to accept it, respect it and keep on going.”

While Bellingham was frustrated at being substituted, his performance on the pitch was excellent.

Harry Kane grabbed the headlines by scoring the two goals in England’s victory, but Bellingham also produced a top display.

England have recorded eight wins from eight World Cup qualifying matches, scoring 22 goals and conceding none.

Tuchel’s men sealed their World Cup ticket last month after beating Latvia, becoming the first European nation to qualify for the tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
