Return set: São Paulo get next six Brasileirão dates, no stadium twice

On Monday night (22), the CBF released the detailed schedule for rounds 19 through 24 of the Brasileirão, with dates, times, venues, and broadcast information for the matches that will resume after the World Cup.

And São Paulo, as was already known, will not have Morumbi available for its first two home matches after the Brazilian Championship resumes: against Athletico-PR and Santos.

The Tricolor’s home stadium will be used for concerts by British singer Harry Styles, who will perform on July 17, 18, 21, and 24. And São Paulo’s return to the pitch, against Athletico-PR, is scheduled for the 22nd at 9:30 p.m. (Brasília time), at a venue yet to be defined, for the 19th round.

After that, the team travels to Rio de Janeiro for the start of the second half of the Brasileirão, when it faces Flamengo on 7/26 (Sunday) at the Maracanã, at 6:30 p.m. The following match is the derby against Santos, which is still completely undefined.

With the derby tentatively scheduled for the 29th or 30th of next month, Tricolor will likely still be without Morumbi, which will be undergoing pitch improvements after the heavy run of concerts.

However, as AVANTE MEU TRICOLOR has already reported, the CBF may postpone the San-São clash to another date, since the team from Baixada may have Copa Sudamericana commitments. São Paulo’s guaranteed reunion with its fans at Morumbi will be against Coritiba on August 15, at 9 p.m., for the 23rd round of the Brasileirão.

The schedule released by the CBF already reflects the guidelines developed by the federation and the clubs at the meeting on the creation of the Liga Futebol no Brasil, held on May 25.

In line with this more recent discussion, the CBF eliminated matches at times considered less suitable for the public, such as 7 p.m. weekday games and later Sunday kickoffs. The initiative is also aligned with audience studies, attendance figures, and fan behavior.
