It’s been confirmed that Thomas Müller will leave Bayern Munich after 25 years following the Club World Cup - but his next destination remains unclear.
The 35-year-old has been consistently linked with a move to Major League Soccer, which already features 20 German players.
One of them is former Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, now with LA Galaxy, who is enthusiastic about the idea of Müller joining the league.
"I would love to see him in the league. Maybe it will happen, maybe not," Reus said following La Galaxy's 2-2 draw with Los Angeles FC on Sunday, according to DPA.
Reus revealed he had recently been in touch with Müller, though not regarding a potential MLS move.
"Yes, we had a bit of contact. But not about coming here at all – I just congratulated him on his incredible career in Munich," he said.
“It’s unbelievable what the lad has achieved with his easy-going nature. He has always stayed the same,” added Reus, noting that the league could benefit “a lot” from a player like Müller.
"Thomas is a great guy with a good character. Always smiling. We’ll see. Hopefully, he has many offers. He said ... he wants to keep playing football. In the end, it’s his decision."
