Antonio Conte will go with a 3-5-2 formation in this weekend’s top-of-the-table Serie A clash between Napoli and Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Phillip Billing will start in the midfield trio for the Partenopei.

Napoli will have to work around a very unfortunate injury heading into Saturday’s match against Inter.

Partenopei midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa will sit the match out. The Cameroonian suffered an injury this week.

And according to the Gazzetta, that injury has forced Napoli coach Antonio Conte into a re-think regarding the formation.

Initially, the newspaper report, Conte was ready to set his team up in a 4-3-3 shape.

That has been the formation that has brought the best results and performances for Napoli this season.

However, former Fulham and Villarreal midfielder Anguissa has been a key player to making that formation work.

And without Anguissa available, the Gazzetta anticipate, Conte will use a 3-5-2 shape.

In midfield, the Gazzetta predict that January signing Phillip Billing will start.

The former Bournemuth and Huddersfield Town midfielder will complete the Partenopei midfield trio along with Stanislav Lobotka and Scott McTominay.

Then, on the left flank the Gazzetta anticipate that Leonardo Spinazzola will start.

If Conte were to go with a 4-3-3 shape then Matias Oliveira would be the favourite to start. But with wingbacks, it will be Spinazzola.

Then, in attack, Giacomo Raspadori will lead the line for Napoli alongside Romelu Lukaku, reports the Gazzetta.

The former Sassuolo forward has had hot and cold form this season. But playing off Lukaku in the front pairing of a 3-5-2 shape has brought the best out of him in recent weeks.
