Inter Milan are reportedly on the cusp of securing an agreement with Independiente Rivadavia for the transfer of Tomas Palacios.

Sources from Italy and Argentina have both confirmed advanced negotiations between the two clubs.

Even Talleres president Andres Fassi revealed as much yesterday.

Palacios is a youth product of Talleres who is spending the current campaign on loan at Independiente Rivadavia.

The latter club has the option to buy the 21-year-old, and is looking to exercise it before selling him to the Nerazzurri for an immediate profit.

But how much exactly will the young Argentine cost the Nerazzurri’s coffers?

According to FcInterNews, the Italian champions will spend circa 10 million euros on Palacios between transfer fees and bonuses.

The fixed transfer fee that has been reported over the past few days is worth 6.5 million euros.

However, the agreement will also include various bonuses which will drive the total cost up. Some of the add-ons are easily achievable while others depend on more complicated objectives.

The maximum sum of the operation could reach 11 million euros, but 10M remains a more realistic figure.

As the source notes, this is the number that Independiente Rivadavia president Daniel Vila had mentioned in a recent interview.

“Even though we are in the midst of negotiations and it is premature to anticipate definitive figures, we are talking about around 10 million euros,” he told Radio Jornada.

Inter will be looking to complete their defensive department by adding Palacios to the fold.

Simone Inzaghi has been requesting the addition of a left-footed defender since Tajon Buchanan’s injury which will prompt Carlos Augusto’s return to his original role as a left wingback.

Club owners Oaktree Capital insisted the new defender must be a young profile whose value can increase over time.
