Inter Milan superstar Hakan Calhanoglu reportedly faces a potential punishment amid an ongoing Curva Nord investigation.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 30-year-old is among several prominent Nerazzurri members expected to provide a statement in the coming days.
Calhanoglu’s relationship with former Curva Nord leader Marco Ferdico remains a topic of ongoing discussion.
Indeed, the ex-AC Milan midfielder already appeared before the court last year to explain the nature of his meetings with Ferdico.
However, he’s not off the hook yet.
Calhanoglu will soon give his statement as part of the inquiry into alleged links between players and ultras figures.
And he is not the only one.
Beppe Marotta, Simone Inzaghi, and Javier Zanetti will need to explain the sporting aspects of the matter.
Meanwhile, after reviewing ‘thousands’ of pages, FIGC prosecutor Giuseppe Chine is ready to launch a case.
If found guilty of breaching Article 25 of the Code of Sporting Justice, Calhanoglu could face a multi-game ban.
The same goes for Milan captain Davide Calabria.
Indeed, Calabria’s connection with several high-ranking Curva Sud figures is still a hot topic.
Investigators seek to determine the extent of both players’ involvement in the case.
