RFEF has amended the match report on Duje Caleta-Car’s yellow card, a change that narrows Real Sociedad’s scope to challenge the booking.

According to Diario Vasco, Real had announced in the morning that they would appeal the caution shown by referee Mateo Busquets Ferrer in yesterday’s game against Getafe. The booking triggers a suspension for Sunday at Rayo Vallecano, with Igor Zubeldia still injured and Aritz Elustondo not fully ruled out after a head blow.

An ambiguous first draft of the report left room to contest the decision. It initially stated Caleta-Car had used his arm recklessly against an opponent, a description that did not match the incident.

An annex has now been added by the federation correcting that version, noting a transcription error regarding Real’s number 16. The final wording cites a reckless tackle while contesting the ball.

With the correction, Real may struggle to have the card overturned, so Matarazzo must choose who partners Jon Martín in Vallecas. All signs point to Luken Beitia of Sanse, a regular in first-team training.

Beitia debuted on 23 February 2024 after replacing Aritz Elustondo against CD Leganés. His last outing was the 3-3 draw with Alavés.
