Onda Cero reports that the RFEF is set to ask FIFA in the coming hours to name Valencia and Vigo as 2030 World Cup host cities, after the withdrawals of Málaga and A Coruña.
The federation intends to formalise the request so the two cities can replace those that stepped aside and to end speculation over the possibility.
FIFA will visit all candidate venues in autumn, and in December it will confirm which cities make the final list of hosts.
The make-up of the Spanish venues has been debated for months, and public bodies have largely expressed confidence that Valencia will be among the chosen cities.
Until selections are confirmed, the host-city line-up for 2030 remains unresolved, with Valencia and Vigo subject to FIFA’s process and timeline.
