River Plate confirm Anibal Moreno signing on contract until 2029 | OneFootball

River Plate have confirmed the signing of Argentine midfielder Aníbal Moreno, who completed his medical and signed a deal running to December 2029.

According to SuperDepor.com, River bought 100% of his registration for 7 million dollars, and he will link up with pre-season immediately.

Born in Catamarca, Moreno played 117 matches for Palmeiras, scoring four goals. He also won the Campeonato Paulista in 2024, scoring in the final against Santos.

His arrival follows the recent capture of Fausto Vera from Atlético Mineiro, a loan with an option to buy until 2026. Manager Marcelo Gallardo has prioritised renewing the midfield, and the board led by Stefano Di Carlo moved quickly to secure two additions.

River remain active in this window, looking at right-back Facundo Mura, who is out of contract at Racing at year end, and Jhohan Romaña. The Núñez club face triple competition next season in the Liga Profesional, Copa Sudamericana and Copa Argentina.
