River Plate ‘in talks’ over Flamengo target Nelson Deossa | OneFootball

Flamengo remain interested in Real Betis midfielder Nelson Deossa, but his next move may be abroad, with River Plate in advanced discussions.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the Argentine club have opened negotiations with Betis to sign the Colombian, with an intention to finalise the deal after the World Cup.

Deossa’s name surfaced at Flamengo this month, with the club assessing him as an option to play as a number eight while they scan the market for that role.

The 26-year-old has been at Real Betis since August 2025. He began at Atlético Huila, then played for Estudiantes, Junior Barranquilla, Atlético Nacional, Pachuca and Monterrey.

While the window remains shut, Flamengo turn to their final fixture before the World Cup pause. They face Coritiba on Saturday, 30, at 16:00 Brasília time at the Maracanã, in the 18th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
