Hansi Flick’s arrival on the FC Barcelona bench has resulted in the enhanced form of several Blaugrana players. But this is nowhere as clear as in the case of the striker Robert Lewandowski, who is still performing at a very high level despite being 36 years of age.

His good performances are quite apparent from his standing in the two big competitions, i.e., La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

In the former, the Pole is leading the race for the Pichichi title, with 21 goals, 3 more than the second place Kylian Mbappé. Similarly, in the UCL, he is trailing only Serhou Guirassy in the top-scorers table, with 9 goals, the same as Raphinha and Harry Kane.

With these goals scored this season, the Polish veteran has taken his overall goals tally with Barcelona to 93 goals, in 133 games, and as SPORT has noted, this means he is quite near to overtaking some of the biggest names in the Blaugrana club’s history.

Lewandowski currently stands 22nd in the list of top-scorers in the Catalans side’s illustrious history, having a goal more than Justo Tejada. On the other hand, he is only a single goal behind Bakero and the legendary Brazilian Ronaldinho, who stands 20th in this ranking.

Thus, if the Polish striker is able to score in the game against Benfica, he will be tied with Ronaldinho in this list. Meanwhile, he will also get closer to some other prominent names in the Blaugrana club’s history, including Pedro (99 goals), Ansensi (101), and Neymar (105).

As it stands, Robert Lewandowski needs just seven more goals to reach a century of goals in Barcelona colors. Given his exceptional form this season, there’s little doubt he’ll achieve this milestone before the campaign ends.

With his contract renewal for the upcoming season all but secured, the Polish striker is poised to target a place among Barcelona’s top ten all-time goal scorers. To do so, he’ll need to surpass club legends like Josep Escolà (120 goals), Carles Rexach (122 goals), and Patrick Kluivert (122 goals). An outstanding season could even see him break into the top five by overtaking Samuel Eto’o’s tally of 130 goals.
