Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has this weekend provided an insight into his plans for the future.
The name of frontman Lewandowski has of course proven a prominent one in the headlines in Spain over the course of the evening to date.
This comes after the Polish international proved himself the star of the show in Barcelona’s latest outing.
En route to a 4-1 downing of Catalan rivals Girona, Lewandowski notched a superb brace, to take his tally to 25 goals this La Liga season.
Despite now being 36 years of age, the former Bayern Munich man is continuing to prove himself one of the most reliable goalscorers in all of world football.
Speaking to the media post-match on Sunday evening, the subject of his plans beyond the summer of 2026 (when Lewandowski’s Barcelona contract is due to expire) was put to the player himself.
And Lewandowski made use of the opportunity to make clear his intention to continuing playing at the top level of the game for some time yet:
“People are talking about my age… but I know I’m working as hard as always. I want to play at the top level for a few more years. I feel very good physically. There’s no difference between a few years ago and now in terms of my stats.”
