With the Premier League and EFL complete, Midlands clubs are shaping summer plans, with Rodrigo Gomes, Fer Lopez, Kieran Trippier and Aston Villa targets among the early talking points.

Aston Villa and Manchester United have enquired about Borussia Dortmund defender Waldemar Anton, according to Sky Sports in Germany. Dortmund want to keep the defender, whose deal runs to 2028.

At Wolves, £19m signing Fer Lopez returned from a Celta Vigo loan in good form. Celta want him back and he is said to favour Spain. Wolves expect him in for pre-season and anticipate he will feature next season, and the situation could drag on.

Wolves are also in talks with free agent Kieran Trippier after his Newcastle United exit. They hope to convince the England right back amid Premier League competition and interest from Saudi Arabia.

Tottenham are thought to be looking at Wolves winger Rodrigo Gomes. Rob Edwards has said he wants to keep him next season, and he finished with five goals in 27 games despite two months injured.

At West Brom, two offers are on the table as the club await Josh Maja’s decision. The striker has been linked with Rangers and Celtic, while James Morrison is believed to be keen to keep him and may feel he could get the best from him.

Chile striker Ben Brereton-Diaz is being linked with Albion after limited minutes since a £7m move to Southampton in 2024. Southampton are said to be open to another loan, with Middlesbrough and West Brom keeping an eye.
