As expected, OGC Nice confirmed on Wednesday morning that Roger Ricort has returned as sporting director, in a statement from president Maurice Cohen.

The position was at first expected to be filled by Grégory Lorenzi, then by Geoffrey Moncada, who later withdrew, but it has ended up with Ricort.

Ricort, 67, resumes a role he previously held at the Gym from 2005 to 2009.

He underlined a long-standing relationship of trust with Ricort and their shared standards and vision for what OGC Nice should be.

He called the appointment excellent news, noting Ricort's grasp of the club's identity, the meaning of the shirt and the expectations that accompany it.
