Rogério Maia has left Santos and been confirmed at Internacional during their return to training on Monday 22.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the goalkeeping coach had not posted a farewell to the Peixe on social media. He joined Santos in February last year after Arzul and Oscar Rodrigues departed amid changes in the football department.

Maia had been working alongside Denis Gago, but Arzul’s comeback opened the door for a move to the Colorado. Cuca’s side will continue with Arzul and Gago overseeing the first-team goalkeepers.

The current group includes Gabriel Brazão, Diógenes and Rodrigo Falcão, with João Pedro from the Under-20s also involved and regarded as a prospect.

Maia has previously worked for Inter, Al-Ettifaq and Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, and for Caxias, Criciúma, Coritiba, Chapecoense, Vitória, Atlético-MG and Flamengo. He has also served with Brazil’s Under-20 and Olympic teams.

Born in Porto Alegre in 1973, Rogério Maia de Brum holds a degree in Physical Education from ULBRA. He played in goal for Taquariense and Encantado, then in 1996 began coaching keepers in Inter’s academy.
