Roma are under growing pressure to sell Matias Soulé before June 30, with Borussia Dortmund emerging as the most concrete suitor for the Argentine as the Giallorossi race to generate €50 million in capital gains to satisfy their UEFA settlement agreement obligations.

According to Sky Sport, via Goal, Roma value Soulé at around €30 million, a figure that would contribute significantly towards that target and help the club avoid fresh sanctions ahead of their return to the Champions League for the first time in seven years.

Dortmund lead race for Soulé as Roma eye two new forwards this summer

Dortmund’s interest is driven by their need to replace Julian Brandt, who departs on a free transfer this summer, and Soulé’s profile, seven goals and eight assists in 42 appearances last season despite battling a groin problem in the second half of the campaign, fits what they are looking for in attack.

For Roma, the logic of selling is clear.

Gasperini intends to keep Paulo Dybala and sign at least two new wide forwards, making Soulé effectively surplus to requirements. At €2 million net per season, his wages represent no real obstacle, but time is running out.
