Roma and Fiorentina will no longer be able to count on their fans to travel to away matches until the end of the season.

Adnkronos has learned that the Ministry of the Interior has officially ordered a total ban following violent clashes involving Roma and Fiorentina fans on the A1 motorway on Sunday.

The measure, which aims to strengthen security and prevent further incidents of violence, refers to the two fan bases’ serious history of violence, both in Italy and abroad.

These incidents contributed to an escalation of violence that was not followed by any preventative measures, such as the adoption of disapproval clauses for individual perpetrators of violence.

While the decision targets violent supporters from both sets of clubs, it should be noted that, unfortunately, those who have never been involved in violent acts are also affected.

The measure extends to all Roma and Fiorentina fans, making no distinction between those involved in aggressive behavior and those who support their team with passion and civility. In short, the action has been widespread, penalizing even those fans who had nothing to do with the disturbances.

The Interior Ministry has not yet released an official statement, but the decision appears to be made.

An official announcement detailing the measure is expected in the coming days.
