Evan Ferguson hasn’t convinced Gian Piero Gasperini.
The Giallorossi coach has never hidden it, and in his last press conference he was crystal clear: “Him or Dybala? I’ll pick Dybala every day of the week. Ferguson hasn’t gotten into the spirit.”
However, Roma is also thinking about defense and has set its sights on Diego Coppola.
The Roman club must follow the coach’s orders, who wants a revolution.
Several names have been added to the defensive line: Radu Dragusin, Axel Disasi, and, as reported in La Repubblica, Frederic Massara’s list also includes the former Hellas Verona player.
Roma is ready to overhaul its attacking lineup, which also includes transfers.
The Giallorossi are working with Brighton to end Ferguson’s loan spell, and given ongoing discussions, they have expressed interest in Coppola, who arrived in England from Hellas Verona in the summer for €12 million.
After a season as a standout in Serie A, the 2003-born player isn’t making a name for himself in the Premier League.
He’s played just 372 minutes under Fabian Hürzeler so far. The prospect of a swap deal with Ferguson would make everyone happy: the German coach would have a free striker to replace the injured Stefanos Tzimas, while Gasperini would have the defender he so desperately desires.
